How to Store Rodenticide Safely in a Warehouse EnvironmentWarehouses often keep rodenticide on hand as part of a year-round pest control plan, but how the product is stored has a direct effect on both safety and effectiveness. Rodenticide should always remain in its original packaging with the label intact, since the label carries the active ingredient, batch number and first-aid information. Transferring bait into unmarked containers is a common mistake that leads to misuse and makes any incident much harder to handle. Choose a dedicated storage location that is dry, cool and locked, away from food, feed and packaging materials. Moisture causes bait to mould or break apart, which reduces how readily rodents accept it, while temperature swings can affect wax blocks and soft bait. Keep products off the floor on shelving, store them separately from other chemicals, and maintain a simple log with purchase date and quantity so stock can be rotated on a first-in, first-out basis. Anyone handling rodenticide should wear gloves and wash hands afterwards. Placement records matter as much as storage. Mark each bait station on a simple site map, note the date it was serviced, and remove any product that is no longer needed at the end of a campaign. Never dispose of leftover rodenticide in general waste or down a drain; follow local regulations for hazardous material. Zhengzhou Baize Industrial Co., Ltd manufactures rodenticide products including bromadiolone and brodifacoum formulations, and can provide guidance on product selection, storage and responsible use. |
